Nothing less than one of his generation’s most offensively gifted superstars, Joel Embiid’s arsenal was in full effect against the Washington Wizards on November 6, 2023. Until it wasn’t. Because the damage done through three quarters was so substantial that the reigning MVP didn’t have to take the court in the final frame at all. That Embiid’s mind-boggling 48 points on 17-of-25 shooting came in just 31 minutes is a testament to his efficiency, as evidenced by the 29 points he racked up in the third quarter alone, shooting 10-for-10 from the field and 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. In addition to the scoring spree, Embiid racked up 11 rebounds, six assists and, above all else, a Philadelphia 76ers victory.
