Ambitious from the get-go, the Philadelphia 76ers’ hometown swingman hunts down a milestone score, racing to collect a ricocheted pass after the L.A. Clippers disrupt his teammates’ pick-and-roll plans. Close enough to the rim to handle the task himself, the undrafted talent banks in an old-fashioned and-one, putting himself in the Association’s history books. Victory belonged to the Clippers on this occasion, but in a six-minute appearance, Edwards took full advantage of the opportunity. The final box score saw four points (on two-of-three shooting), two rebounds, and one assist, springboarding momentum that Edwards would again see a month-and-a-half later, as the snakebitten 76ers searched through their rotation.
