The LA Clippers opened the 2022-23 season with championship expectations, in large part thanks to a familiar face. Last seen in the Western Conference Semifinals in June, 2021, Kawhi Leonard missed the entire subsequent year with a knee injury. Locked in a tight fourth-quarter battle against the Los Angeles Lakers, Leonard reminds everyone that he’s still one of the most clutch players in the league, taking a pass from a teammate and calmly burying a contested 21-footer over LeBron James. The huge bucket gave the Clippers a six-point cushion with under a minute to go, and Leonard’s 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal in 21 minutes off the bench contributed to his team’s 103-97 victory on October 20, 2022.
