A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces had payback on their minds. Winners of six consecutive games, the defending WNBA champions came face-to-face with the last team to deal them a loss more than three weeks earlier. This time around the Dallas Wings were overmatched as Wilson caught a highlight-reel behind-the-back pass from Chelsea Gray just inside the 3-point arc before beating three defenders on a drive to the rim that culminated in a layup in traffic. The two-time MVP recorded six blocks in the first half as the Aces jumped out to a 17-point halftime lead and never looked back, with Wilson also mixing in 22 points and seven rebounds in the 104-91 win on July 30, 2023, improving Las Vegas to 24-2 on the season.
