Josh Giddey

The nickname, “The Shot” is already reserved for a different walk-off bucket in Chicago Bulls lore, but through his almost one-of-a-kind game-winner on March 27, 2025, Josh Giddey decided to start a dialogue of similarly-legendary proportions. Already well-acquainted with seemingly-insurmountable odds throughout the fourth quarter, Giddey — given less than a one percent chance of pairing his triple-double with a victory — readies himself for another as Chicago clasps its hands for a prayer in the final 3.3 seconds. Taking every step the Los Angeles Lakers’ defense was willing to give, Giddey pairs his running start with perfect balance, flicking a 47-foot slingshot that falls through, sending the United Center into playoff-like euphoria. Giddey helped the Bulls become just the second team in the NBA’s play-by-play era (since 1996-97, go figure) to hit 11 3-pointers in a single fourth quarter. Spurring on the ever-unlikely two-possession comeback in the final 15 seconds, Giddey was nothing short of outstanding, tallying a 26-point, 14-rebound, 11-assist, two-steal, four-triple outing, as the raging Bulls won its ninth game in 11 tries.
