Sparks, the term atop the page might’ve read “hardship contract.” But on-court, 2025’s accomplished No. 28 pick likely knew exactly where money would be made: through the accumulation of relatively-easy buckets. Standing at a “mere” 6-foot — but with an ambitious physicality that arguably leaves her appearing much larger — King seizes her moment through a late-yet-perfectly-on-time offensive rebound hunt. Almost climbing over Satou Sabally’s 6-foot-4 frame, King tracks down the most unlikely of putbacks, getting just enough of a hand on a teammate’s miss to redirect it in for an old-fashioned and-one. Injuries within Los Angeles’ rotation opened up temporary opportunities, and in May 21, 2025’s loss to the Phoenix Mercury, King got on the boards in multiple ways through her four-point, three-rebound, one-assist contribution in 13 minutes.
