Coming off a five-point performance against the reigning champion Las Vegas Aces, DeWanna Bonner flipped the script in fantastic fashion two days later. Following a subpar game with one of the best of her 14-year career, the Connecticut Sun’s four-time All-Star lit up the previously unbeaten Aces from inside and out. Now in the top-15 in WNBA history in career 3-pointers made, Bonner folded the Aces with 5 in 7 attempts, including a trio of confident spot-up and catch-and-shoot downtown jumpers. Bonner also utilized her 6-foot-4 frame to score on close-range shots down low, highlighted by a reverse layup in the post off a dish from Tiffany Hayes. All told, the two-time champion erupted for a franchise-record and career-high 41 points on 16 of 23 shooting while also grabbing seven rebounds in her squad’s 94-77 win on June 8, 2023, dealing the Aces their first loss of the season.
