The New Orleans Pelicans made Daniels the eighth pick in the draft and he rewarded the franchise’s faith with a huge night off the bench against the Toronto Raptors. Fred VanVleet was no match for Daniels in the open floor as the rookie guard traversed the floor in transition before finishing with a stylish driving layup. Daniels posted 14 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, giving the Pelicans a big lift in his team’s 126-108 triumph on November 30, 2022. The 6-foot-7 Australian made his most significant impacts as a passer and defender across 59 games as a rookie.
