A seven-game homestand in front of their beam-lighting fans seemed to be exactly what the Sacramento Kings needed to breathe life into their Western Conference Play-In hopes. But, as Keon Ellis found during a fastbreak attack on March 24, 2025, a quick pit stop through Europe certainly never hurt anyone. Knowing the importance of a hot start against the league’s reigning champions, Ellis takes initiative, intercepting Jaylen Brown’s pass before shifting his sights to the offensive side of the floor. Left with “only” Derrick White — also known as the NBA’s No. 1 shot blocker among backcourt talents — Ellis uses a windshield wiper-like Euro-step, sealing the deal in style with an evasive finish. The Boston Celtics had the last laugh, pulling away for a victory, but Ellis played a healthy role in a well-balanced scoring effort for Sacramento’s starters, running up 14 points (on five-of-seven shooting), three rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers.
