Victories can be tough to come by for teams fresh out of the lottery, so Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves showed the Phoenix Suns that he wasn’t playing around. The No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft caught a pass from Ricky Rubio behind the 3-point arc and oozed athleticism on a determined drive to the hole as he landed a sleek one-handed throwdown on Markieff Morris. Wiggins shot 9 of 15 from the field for 20 points — already the 17th 20-point game of his rookie season — while also mixing in two rebounds and two assists in a nail-biting 111-109 Minnesota win on February 20, 2015. It was a sign of good things to come for Wiggins, who would later be named the Rookie of the Year after averaging 16.9 points and 4.6 rebounds while starting all 82 games for the Timberwolves.
