For one night, the Los Angeles Lakers’ bench outscored the starting lineup. Austin Reaves had a little something to do with that. Reaves had the best performance of his two-year career against the Orlando Magic, dribbling and spinning his way into the lane before connecting on a fadeaway from the elbow over Markelle Fultz. The undrafted Reaves poured in a career-best 35 points — 9 of 14 from the field and 16 of 18 at the foul line — to go with six rebounds and six assists in a 30-minute run off the bench as the Lakers defeated the Magic 111-105 on March 19, 2023.
