When Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum joined forces on the Charlotte Hornets in the 2015 offseason, the pair seemed destined to complement each other. Walker had already been in Charlotte for four years but Batum’s arrival from the Portland Trail Blazers helped elevate things to another level. Prior to the union in the 2015-16 campaign, Walker - now the franchise’s all-time scoring leader - had never averaged 20 points per game, made an All-Star team or won a playoff game — all of which was about to change. Depicted in their first season as teammates, the chemistry between the quick-footed sharpshooting point guard and the lengthy and versatile stretch forward was palpable. The silky smooth pair combined for 64 points, nine rebounds and 14 assists in a victory over the Indiana Pacers on March 4, 2016, one of a franchise-best 48 wins that season. In addition to a hard-fought playoff series later that spring, the year marked the first of three consecutive All-Star selections and the first of five straight 20-point-per-game seasons for Walker.
