It had been two seasons since the Sacramento Kings had won five consecutive games, so Trey Lyles made sure to bring something special for the occasion. The eighth-year reserve forward gives an immediate lift to the Kings’ second unit, pumpfaking his defender on the perimeter before driving hard toward the rim and finishing with a powerful one-handed slam over Charles Bassey. Lyles’ 14 points were part of a 58-point explosion from the bench, and he also added three rebounds and a steal in 20 strong minutes to help the Kings prevail 130-112 over the San Antonio Spurs on November 17, 2022.
