Daniel Gafford proved this theory against the Detroit Pistons as the Washington Wizards center waited for his moment following a Kyle Kuzma steal on defense. Deadlocked in a tie game, the Wizards held for the final shots, as Bradley Beal misfired but Gafford was in the right place at the right time as he gathered the offensive board and converted the put-back layup before time expired. The fourth-year big man made 4 of his 5 shots for eight points and grabbed seven rebounds in Washington’s 119-117 victory on March 7, 2023.
