The Washington Wizards had not won in San Antonio since Bradley Beal was six years old — until now. The three-time All–Star helps end a 22-game losing streak against the Spurs in Texas that dated back to 1999, hustling from the backcourt into the frontcourt off an inbounds play to convert a driving layup with 2.1 seconds before halftime, aided by a heady assist from Kristaps Porziņģis. Beal’s 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two blocks were a major catalyst in delivering the Wizards a long-awaited 127-106 win on January 30, 2023.
