In just his second game back from an injury that caused him to miss all but nine games a year ago, Michael Porter Jr. has opened the 2022-23 season looking very much like his old self. Drawing one of the game’s toughest defensive assignments in Steph Curry, Porter Jr. doesn’t flinch, staying in lockstep with the four-time champion and two-time MVP on his path to the basket, swatting Curry’s shot with authority. Porter Jr. brought it on the offensive end too, contributing 17 points and six rebounds in the Denver Nuggets’ 128-123 road win at the defending champion Golden State Warriors on October 21, 2022.
