In a banner evening for the New York Knicks bench, it was only fitting that Josh Hart would hit the shot that delivered the franchise its first postseason win in two years. Trailing the Cleveland Cavaliers by one point with under two minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Hart thought about a pass to Jalen Brunson only to find his college teammate covered. Hart’s backup plan worked even better as he drilled the go-ahead 3-pointer over Cedi Osman to give the Knicks the lead for good. Hart tallied 17 points on 8 of 11 shooting plus 10 rebounds as New York’s bench outscored Cleveland’s 37-14 in the thrilling 101-97 First Round Game 1 victory on April 15, 2023.
