The Golden State Warriors needed a vintage Klay Thompson postseason heat check to avoid falling into a 2-0 series hole. As usual, the four-time champion delivered. Thompson’s six 3-pointers in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals were not enough for a win, so he one-upped himself in Game 2 when Steph Curry came up with a steal and found his fellow Splash Brother for an open triple. Thompson connected on 11 of his 18 field goals — including a blistering 8 for 11 showing from downtown — en route to a game-high 30 points in the 127-100 series-tying victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on May 4, 2023.
