Malik Monk

With his team’s season on the line, Malik Monk emptied the tank. With the Sacramento Kings facing elimination on the road in Game 6 of the First Round, Monk left nothing to chance on either end as he drifted over to land an enormous block on Jordan Poole’s drive to the rim. The explosive reserve guard then pushed Sacramento’s lead to double digits on the ensuing possession by confidently pulling the trigger on a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer early in the shot clock. Monk shot 8 of 14 from the field and 9 of 10 from the line for a team-high 28 points off the bench and added seven rebounds and four assists in the 118-99 victory on April 28, 2023 as the Kings sent the series back home for a winner-take-all Game 7.
