On a franchise built through near-30-point scorers, trophy-raising marksmen, and even players sporting nicknames such as “Mr. Big Shot,” Malik Beasley can officially say that, in terms of single-season 3-point sniping, no regular-season Detroit did it quite like No. 5 in 2024-25. Locked in, and prepared to put the Chicago Bulls’ defense through the types of off-ball mazes that his masked predecessors used to, the first-year Piston finally escapes Kevin Huerter’s grasp, positioning himself for a top-of-the-key spot-up. Accurate, of course, in the fire that follows, Beasley stamps his name through the Detroit Pistons’ record books, moving into No. 1 all-time with triple No. 212 and counting. Pairing his individual excellence with something just as superb — a 40-point win over Motor City’s Central Division counterparts — the gifted marksmen left February 11, 2025 with plenty to smile about. Can’t-miss in more ways than one, Beasley eventually strolled towards the exits with a 24-point demonstration (on 8-of-12 shooting), complemented by two rebounds, one steal, and seven 3-pointers.
