Dearica Hamby

Dearica Hamby came to the WNBA by an unconventional route, having picked up the game only as a high school sophomore before becoming Wake Forest's all-time leader in both points and rebounds. On June 5, 2015, in her professional debut at Phoenix, she collected a pass from Kayla McBride at the top of the key and rose up for a three-pointer, a glimpse of the versatility that would define her for a decade to come. The sixth overall pick in the 2015 Draft would grow into one of the most decorated forwards of her era, claiming back-to-back Sixth Player of the Year honors in 2019 and 2020, earning three All-Star selections, winning a championship with the Las Vegas Aces in 2022, and taking home the Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award in 2024. She finished the contest with 10 points, five rebounds and one assist.
