Through a fire-catching 40-point showcase of his own on November 12, 2024, the player face-guarding Malik Beasley in overtime may have been none other than Tyler Herro. Over a one-minute stretch, Beasley’s clutch play encompassed everything from off-the-catch triples to a likely-to-be-overlooked back screen that sprung free a teammate’s game-tying alley-oop, and ultimately, the game-winning free throws thereafter. Supremely confident, and now prepared to open a stretch that saw 20-plus points over a five-game span, Beasley finished with 21 points, five rebounds, one steal, and five 3-pointers.
