Azurá Stevens arrived in Dallas as one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2018 draft class, a 6'6" forward who had sharpened her game at both Duke and UConn before the Wings selected her sixth overall. Just 17 games into her professional career, she caught a return pass from Skylar Diggins-Smith on the left wing against the Indiana Fever on July 5, 2018, rose up, and buried a three that was part of a 26-point eruption on a night when everything clicked. The 97-70 victory was the centerpiece of Dallas's season-best five-game winning streak, and the performance still stands as her WNBA career best. The 2021 championship with the Chicago Sky and a spot on the 2018 All-Rookie Team were still ahead of her, but the blueprint was already visible. She finished with 26 points, six rebounds, two assists and one block.
