Dallas Mavericks

Although the Dallas Mavericks fell short of the postseason one year after a magical run to the Western Conference Finals, there was still plenty to celebrate. Dallas had the sixth-rated offensive unit in the league, no surprise considering the continued brilliance of Luka Dončić. Dončić put together his fourth consecutive All-Star and All-NBA First Team campaign after finishing second in the league in scoring with a career-best 32.4 points per game. The Dallas superstar posted 10 triple-doubles — one of only three players to log at least 10 in 2022-23 — which included the first 60-point game in franchise history as well as the first 60-point, 20-rebound triple-double in league history on December 27. Eight-time All-Star Kyrie Irving joined the Mavericks in a February trade and averaged 27 points, five rebounds and six assists in 20 games before signing a three-year contract extension to remain in Dallas. Christian Wood averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds across 67 games in his first season in Dallas, while Tim Hardaway Jr. provided veteran leadership and offensive support with 14.4 points per game.
