The Washington Wizards finished 35-47 for the second consecutive season and have failed to qualify for the postseason in four of the previous five years. Even so, Bradley Beal had another strong individual season in his 11th year with the franchise as the three-time All-Star averaged 23.2 points per game — his seventh straight season posting at least 22.5 a night — and came within 200 points of becoming Washington’s all-time leading scorer. The Wizards boasted two more players who averaged at least 20 points per game in Kristaps Porziņģis and Kyle Kuzma. Porziņģis posted a career-high 23.2 points in his seventh season, as did Kuzma at 21.2 per game in year six. Kuzma signed a four-year contract extension to stay in Washington after the season ended. Corey Kispert, a first-round pick in 2021, had a strong sophomore season after averaging 11.1 points per game and shooting better than 42 percent from behind the 3-point line. Deni Avdija and Daniel Gafford each made valuable contributions in their third and fourth NBA seasons, respectively.
