The Brooklyn Nets that finished the 2022-23 season looked nothing like the version that started — yet the team still managed to win 45 games and make the postseason for the fifth straight year. Both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving missed time during the season and were ultimately dealt at the trade deadline, ushering in a new era of Nets basketball that showcased some exciting prospects. Acquired from the Phoenix Suns in the Durant trade, Mikal Bridges averaged 26.1 points across 27 regular season games, nearly a nine-point increase from his output with his former team. The Nets also picked up Cameron Johnson from Phoenix and he responded with a career-high 16.6 points in his 25 games with the club. Spencer Dinwiddie, who spent five seasons with the Nets earlier in his career, was picked up in the Irving deal and posted 9.1 assists across 26 games while serving as another scoring option. Nic Claxton led the NBA in field goal percentage at better than 70 percent while finishing second in the league with 2.5 blocks per game. The Nets fell to the Philadelphia 76ers in four games in the first round of the playoffs.
