Zach LaVine was not playing around when it came to defending his Slam Dunk Contest crown. After winning the event as a rookie in 2015, the talented Minnesota Timberwolves dunk artist was back the next year in Toronto to participate in one of the most memorable iterations of the event featuring a showdown between he and Aaron Gordon. LaVine kicked things off in the first round with a lobbed, behind-the-back, reverse one-handed throwdown that earned the first of several perfect scores from the judges. Thanks to a helpful teammate who threw him the next lob, LaVine landed a one-handed alley-oop from the free throw line that fell short of a perfect 50 by one point. Once he advanced to the finals against Gordon, LaVine reached further into his bag of tricks and pulled out a one-handed 360-degree slam that scored him another flawless score. LaVine was far from finished as he also stuck a windmill dunk from the foul line that earned him another 50 and forced sudden death. In overtime, LaVine shifted to behind the basket on the baseline and threw down a sensational between-the-legs slam, much to the delight of his NBA peers watching from the sidelines. LaVine clinched his repeat championship with a through-the-legs dunk from near the free-throw line that registered as his fourth perfect dunk in five attempts on February 13, 2016.
