Devin Booker wouldn’t command much of an argument if he decided to list himself among the exclusive group of players capable of saying that they’ve mastered the fundamentals and intricacies of NBA bucket-getting. As the world learned on January 29, 2025, though, his on-the-fly, improvisational style proved to be just as must-see. Forced to play catch-up after his teammate’s transition pass arrives with too much mustard, Booker breaks into a full-on sprint, preserving the possession through an over-the-torso save that soars through the air and into his teammate’s hands. Promptly rewarded for his tireless hustle, Booker —  still spry and energetic — uses a decisive first step to pry through the lane before balancing into a rainbow skyhook shot, extending the Phoenix Suns’ opening half lead. The Minnesota Timberwolves’ late-game rally would eventually give them the last laugh, but Booker’s offensive showcase went unbothered, as he produced 28 points (on 11-of-19 shooting), four rebounds, eight assists, and two 3-pointers.
