With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George out with injuries, it was a next-man-up mentality for the LA Clippers. Luckily the next man up was Norman Powell. The veteran shooting guard sizzled in Game 3 of a First Round playoff series against the Phoenix Suns as he did everything in his power to evade a pesky Torrey Craig on defense, finally winning the battle with an off-balance one-handed 3-pointer that dropped despite Powell drawing a foul. Powell did not miss much at all, converting 15 of his 23 field goals — 7 of 12 from downtown — for a playoff career-high 42 points to go with five rebounds and three assists on April 20, 2023.
