The Atlanta Hawks badly needed a bucket. They needed a win even more. Trae Young had them covered. Down 3-1 in the First Round series against the Boston Celtics, the two teams were locked in a tight Game 5 fourth quarter battle when Young came up huge and saved his team’s season. The two-time All-Star had ice flowing through his veins with the Hawks trailing by a point, silencing the Boston crowd by burying a game-winning 3-pointer from the logo over Jaylen Brown with 2.1 seconds remaining. Young’s game-high 38 points to go with four rebounds, 13 assists and five triples guided the Hawks to a 119-117 upset win on April 25, 2023 and sent the series back to Atlanta for Game 6.
