On the strength of a scintillating fourth quarter, Lonnie Walker IV went from nearly out of the Los Angeles Lakers’ rotation to producing an instant classic clutch playoff performance. The fifth-year guard secured his place in Lakers postseason lore as he buried a go-ahead foul line pull-up off a dish from LeBron James with under two minutes to play in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals. Walker’s final period heat check dropped jaws as he shot 6 for 9 and scored all 15 of his points across the last 12 minutes of the contest, becoming the first Lakers player to score at least 15 points off the bench in the fourth quarter of a playoff game since 1997. Walker also mixed in three rebounds, two assists and two steals in the thrilling 104-101 victory as the Lakers took a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Golden State Warriors on May 8, 2023.
