In addition to his smooth maneuvers on the court, Giddey locked in 10 rebounds in his debut on October 20, 2021.

Some rookies are just fearless from the jump. In his first regular season game with the Indiana Pacers, Chris Duarte attempts to lose his defender with a sidestep and a pump fake. With his man still on him and seconds left on the clock, Duarte pulls up for a jumper and beats the buzzer to nail a three, capping off an 11 point quarter. He shined in his debut with 27 points and five rebounds on October 20, 2021.

In a cat-and-mouse game, the Phoenix Suns All-Star guard makes himself skinny to fight through a dribble handoff before using his intuition to turn back and get a steal for a reverse fastbreak jam. Booker ended with 18 points in a Phoenix Suns 112-100 win on November 2, 2021.

LaMelo Ball’s passing game alone is must-see television. In an October 25, 2021 matchup against the Boston Celtics, the Charlotte Hornets sophomore guard pushes the ball up the court and tears into the paint. Noticing teammate Miles Bridges trailing him at the top of the key, Ball dishes a pinpoint-precise dime over his shoulder without looking, for Bridges to throw down with a thunderous slam. The 2020-21 Rookie of the Year went for 25 points, nine assists and five boards on the night.

The road team wants nothing more than to silence the home crowd in a tense moment. Robert Williams III did just that after diving hard to the basket, hammering home a lob from Jayson Tatum. Williams III tallied a double-double of 12 points & 16 rebounds (to go along with 3 blocks) in Boston's 140-129 double overtime shootout in Charlotte on October 25, 2021.

Tyler Herro does not shy away from the big Moments. The Miami Heat guard has zero hestiation in getting to his spot, taking his defender off the dribble, then hitting him with a stepback triple. Nothing but bottom. Herro chipped in with a team-high 30 points off the bench.

Simons hits a crossover going right, splits the defense and finishes a tough, contested runner that finds nothing but bottom. Simons poured in 17 points off the pine in the November 1, 2021 matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Isolate Chris Paul in the mid-range and it's an automatic bucket. Even against an all-world defender in Anthony Davis, the veteran floor general puts on a dribbling clinic before casually rising up for a contested jumper that splashes the bottom of the net. Silky smooth.

It’s become increasingly difficult to handle Jalen Brunson off the dribble. The Dallas Mavericks fourth-year guard combines a couple of crossovers into a spinning, falling finish plus the foul. Brunson scorched the nets to the tune of 25 points on 10/13 shooting against the Miami Heat on November 2, 2021.

The new-look guard and Chicago Bulls teammate Lonzo Ball showcase perfect synergy during a two-on-one fastbreak, culminating in an alley-oop slam. With Bol Bol’s 7-foot-2 frame and 7-foot-8 wingspan, it’s theoretically not a sound strategy to post-up against him. Trey Burke learns that the hard way as his entry pass is whacked away, leading to a three-on-two fastbreak that the Denver Nuggets big caps off with an alley-oop finish. Bol's squad cruised to a 106-75 triumph over the Dallas Mavericks on October 31st, 2021.

Trying to play the role of rim protector against Jarrett Allen in flight is not worth the cause. The Cleveland Cavaliers center takes a perfectly placed bounce pass and elevates up and over the outstretched arms of Mason Plumlee. That's a major throwdown.

The running of the (Chicago) Bulls in transition is a sight to behold. Guard Javonte Green leads the break, gives it to his running mate Lonzo Ball, who then finds Green streaking for a thunderous slam dunk. Beautiful give-and-go.

One of the craftiest veterans on the offensive end, Jeff Green has more than a few ways to exploit defenders. After faking a return handoff to Facundo Campazzo up top, Green darts to the rim and converts a nifty, left-handed layup over the outstretched arms of Dallas's Willie Cauley-Stein on October 29, 2021.

Two points is two points but it doesn't hurt to put some flair on it, especially when uncontested at the rim. Rookie Alperen Sengun drops a pass to Christian Wood, who slams the ball down with some punctuation.

Don’t sleep on a battle-tested veteran. Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal hits the gas so fast it sends one Atlanta Hawks defender to the ground and catches two more unprepared to stop the three-time All-Star from getting to the cup. With an up-and-under reverse layup off glass, Beal secures two of an eventual 24 total points on November 1, 2021.

Faced with a drive attempt from the Brooklyn Nets icon, Milwaukee Bucks sophomore Jordan Nwora bides his time under the hoop then leaps at the rim to snuff out a dunk attempt. Nwora added 15 points in the October 19, 2021 victory after the team’s 2020 NBA championship ring ceremony.
