Nothing less than one of his generation’s most offensively gifted superstars, Joel Embiid’s arsenal was in full effect against the Washington Wizards on November 6, 2023. Until it wasn’t. Because the damage done through three quarters was so substantial that the reigning MVP didn’t have to take the court in the final frame at all. That Embiid’s mind-boggling 48 points on 17-of-25 shooting came in just 31 minutes is a testament to his efficiency, as evidenced by the 29 points he racked up in the third quarter alone, shooting 10-for-10 from the field and 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. Towns’ late hoop with five seconds on the clock – one of the 10 field goals he hit with just 11 attempts – clinched a Minnesota Timberwolves win over the New Orleans Pelicans on November 18, 2023.

After a late hoop to draw within one with seven seconds left on the game clock, Keldon Johnson and the Spurs immediately hit the Phoenix Suns with a fullcourt press. Seizing an opportunity to trap Kevin Durant in the corner, Johnson battles to pry the rock out of his hands and heads straight to the cup for a game-winning layup.
