Seasoned in her experience and capable in her role, Tiffany Mitchell ensured that speed would no longer be a problem for those in orange-and-blue. Mixed into the game’s highlight reels already with multiple crafty through-the-lane finishes, the nine-year veteran adds another, speeding past defensive ace Betnijah Laney-Hamilton before gliding through traffic for a rainbow and-one finish over Jonquel Jones. The play-by-play told Mitchell’s story brilliantly: upon entering, Connecticut trailed by seven. By the end of her first shift, they led by two. Although Connecticut’s undefeated streak would ultimately fall in a clash of WNBA titans on June 8, 2024, Mitchell provided the at-the-time 9-2 New York Liberty with an unsolvable puzzle.
