In one of the highest-scoring All-Star Games in NBA history, Team Giannis reigned supreme in Salt Lake City. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored his first and only basket of the game to make it 2-0 before yielding to his high-powered teammates — including triples from Utah Jazz stars past and present, Donovan Mitchell and Lauri Markkanen, as well as a patented DeMar DeRozan midrange pull-up and a reverse slam from Ja Morant. First-time All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander proves to be a helpful teammate not once but twice, setting up Pascal Siakam and Domantas Sabonis for earth-shaking throwdowns. Team Giannis makes sure to leave some room for fun by playfully inbounding the ball twice off the back of Team LeBron’s Nikola Jokić, but it was all business when it came to picking up the win for All-Star Game MVP Jayson Tatum, who turns a perimeter crossover into a driving dunk for two of his record-setting 55 points. Damian Lillard gets the last laugh in scoring the game-winning triple, while also showcasing his legendary accuracy from downtown by burying a jumper from the halfcourt logo in Team Giannis’ 184-175 victory on February 19, 2023.
