After surrendering 279 points in their previous two games, the Minnesota Timberwolves made defense a priority. The Memphis Grizzlies wish they hadn’t. Minnesota was determined – even without Karl-Anthony Towns – and Naz Reid stepped in to record one of his five blocks with a forceful denial of Dillon Brooks, who was also rejected by Kyle Anderson in the game. Anthony Edwards was brilliant defensively, tallying five steals and three blocks, including a block on Brandon Clarke that turned into a dunk on the other end. Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant is repeatedly denied, as the Timberwolves throw turnover-forcing double teams throughout. All told, Minnesota recorded 13 steals and 11 blocks while forcing 24 turnovers and claimed an impressive 109-101 win on November 30, 2022.
