Creating a “Mount Rushmore” of NBA history’s greatest 3-point shooters often requires a consideration of factors such as efficiency, shot difficulty, and clutch gene, among plenty others. If one were looking for a player capable of blending each of those categories into a Hall of Fame-like mixture, they need not look any further than Damian Lillard. Enough of a bucket-getter to leave defenders offering prayers of thanks after misses, Lillard attempts to strap the Milwaukee Bucks to his back during a comeback attempt, starting by putting Wendell Carter Jr. through a behind-the-back stepback whirlwind, followed by a 3-pointer. One possession later, the 13-year icon elects to pick on someone his own size, sequencing a spin, pivot, and stepback into a single combination before burying a heavily-contested trifecta over Cole Anthony. A slightly-misfired triple ultimately allowed the Orlando Magic to survive for a two-point win, but March 8, 2025’s matchup was one worth remembering regardless. Efficient in his “Robin” role, Lillard finished with 26 points (on 9-of-18 shooting), seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and four 3-pointers.
