A new year brings with it fresh opportunities to exorcize old demons. Goga Bitadze and the Indiana Pacers dropped their final 10 games of the preceding season, riding a months-long losing streak that stretched to 12 after falling in their first two games of the 2022-23 campaign. In one play, Bitadze says out with the old, in with the new as he’s set up with a perfect alley-oop from exciting rookie teammate Bennedict Mathurin, taking out his frustrations on the rim with an effortless one-handed slam against the Detroit Pistons. Bitadze had a monster performance with 14 points, 15 rebounds and four assists off the bench, helping Indiana earn that long-awaited 124-115 victory on October 22, 2022.
