The 2001 Slam Dunk Contest champion and the first player in SuperSonics history to win it caught a lob from Barry on December 7, 2002 and skied up for a reverse alley-oop that captured everything that made him electric in Seattle: the Oklahoma State-forged leaping ability, the creativity in the air, the confidence to try it all at full throttle. The 17th overall pick averaged 12.1 points across his career and later reinvented himself as a respected abstract expressionist painter after his playing days. Mason finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds in a 29-point win over Miami.
