Flying higher than one of the All-Star Game’s “Global Stars” — and in particular, San Antonio’s 7-foot-3 talent — promised to be no easy feat, but as a “Rising Star” himself, Cade Cunningham relished the challenge nonetheless. Inspired, perhaps, after seeing Victor Wembanyama’s opposite end jam, the Detroit Pistons’ up-and-comer hunts out his own showcase, outspeeding the opposition in transition before elevating into a fierce one-handed flush. The journey towards making his first All-Star appearance required 1,777 regular-season minutes in the Motor City; on February 16, 2025, Cunningham needed only a five-minute, 21-second cameo to create a memorable highlight. Team Kenny would fall short of a win, but Cunningham left the All-Star festivities with plenty to smile about even so, totalling five points (on two-of-three shooting), alongside one rebound, one assist, and a 3-pointer.
