As their early-season ship sailed through the Memphis Grizzlies’ home floor, the Los Angeles Lakers understood that without their All-Star center, November 6, 2024’s effort would require all hands on deck. In taking advantage of his long-awaited, extended opportunity within the Lakers’ rotation, Cam Reddish pledged to keeping those hands active, disruptive, and in every passing lane throughout. Assigned the temporary task of containing the electric, borderline-unstoppable Ja Morant, Reddish accepts the challenge by using his 6-foot-8 frame advantageously, hounding Memphis’ star at every angle possible. Kicking said instincts into overdrive, Reddish hunts down Morant’s intended underhand shovel pass, intercepting it for himself before gathering into a breakaway layup through traffic on the floor’s opposite end. Memphis’ depth, pace, and 3-point shooting proved unconquerable for Los Angeles here, but Reddish, commanding note from the national media nonetheless, offered 15 points (on five-of-seven shooting), six rebounds, two assists, two steals, two 3-pointers, and four deflections.
