Positioned to wrap the bow on a dominant third quarter rally, Reese shadows Aaliyah Edwards’ crossover attempt, pickpocketing her fellow 2024 WNBA Draft classmate before hustling the floor for a 3-on-2 opportunity. Perfectly within the peripheral of one of her go-to shot creators, Reese powers through contact on the way to and-one finish and a signature staredown thereafter. With friends, family, and even her collegiate coach in attendance, the gifted big sustained her outstanding play, recording 16 points, 11 rebounds (including six offensive boards), three assists, and five steals, becoming the first rookie since 2008 to reach those numbers. One game later, Reese became WNBA history’s first-ever rookie to hit the 10-point, 10-rebound, five-steal parameters in back-to-back showings. Following in her lead, Chicago used a lockdown second half to steer a come-from-behind Commissioner’s Cup victory over the Washington Mystics on June 6, 2024.
