After seemingly coming to a mutual agreement with his teammates before the game to make shots at a historic rate, Lindy Waters III opted for his share of the buckets to be accompanied with a level of smoothness. Free to test the limits of his scoring abilities with a 32-point lead and the outcome all-but-decided, the third-year sniper works into a dribble handoff along the left wing, separating himself with one extra step for added measure before connecting on a fluid 3-point bucket. Waters’ offensive success proved noteworthy during a game in which the Oklahoma City Thunder became the first team in the last 25 years to shoot 60 percent from the field, 60 percent from 3-point range, and 100 percent from the free throw line, and had 14 different players score. Preferring to punish the Portland Trail Blazers with similar-type shots during the 43-point win, Waters finished with 12 points, three rebounds, one assist, and four 3-pointers on November 19, 2023.
