But, as both on-court highlights and end-of-night box scores attest, 2024’s No. 6 pick has nonetheless mastered the art of moving with speed and urgency. Verifying it quite literally against the Minnesota Lynx’s top-ranked defense, Edwards showcases her well-regarded first step, sweeping down the left sideline with blink-and-miss-it speed to leave Jessica Shepard in the dust behind before hanging a reverse finish off-glass. Edwards supplied fireworks for the Mystics’ offense on July 3, 2025, nearly leading the team outright in scoring with almost-perfect efficiency. Extraordinary on a per minute basis, Edwards assembled a 15-points-in-17-minutes masterpiece (on six-of-seven shooting), alongside six rebounds, starring among the night’s reserves.
