Settled into one of the 2023-24 season’s most competitive affairs, the three-time All-Star introduced the Orlando Magic to his full assortment of tricks. Mixing brute force and physicality around the rim, flair and finesse along the high post and perimeter, and enough dribble handoffs to produce a “how-to” tutorial, the end result proved historic. Sabonis’ greatness translated into 22 points, 23 rebounds, and 12 assists — the first player to reach those numbers since 1968 — alongside a pair of steals and a block.
