Maxi Kleber

With no Luka Dončić to save them, somebody had to step up and be the hero for the Dallas Mavericks. Enter Maxi Kleber. The sixth-year forward stepped into the lineup for the most memorable of his five starts of the 2022-23 season and found himself on the floor on the final possession with his team trailing the Los Angeles Lakers by two points. When Kyrie Irving found himself swarmed by a Lakers double team after catching the inbounds pass, he whipped a crosscourt dish to Kleber who was able to get off the game-winning triple at the buzzer over the outstretched fingertips of Anthony Davis. Kleber scored six of his 10 points in the final 7.2 seconds and also chipped in four rebounds and two assists in his squad’s 111-110 win on March 17, 2023.
