When your opponent struggles to score 80 points in an NBA game, you know you’ve done something right on defense — many things, in fact. This was the fate the Portland Trail Blazers met while facing off against the Phoenix Suns, who used a barrage of steals, blocks and pressure to demoralize the opposition. Deandre Ayton shows he’s not playing around when he rejects Jusuf Nurkić and Trendon Watford on consecutive attempts. Ayton’s teammates get in on the block party too, as Jock Landale turns away rookie Shaedon Sharpe and Mikal Bridges denies former college teammate Josh Hart. Meanwhile, Devin Booker literally rips the basketball from Hart’s hands, and Greg Brown III meets the same fate at the hands of Josh Okogie. The Suns recorded seven steals, a whopping 14 blocks and forced 17 turnovers with Portland shooting just 38 percent for the game in Phoenix’s 102-82 smackdown on November 5, 2022.
