Diana Taurasi didn’t need to look very far — or at all — to pick up the Phoenix Mercury’s first victory of the 2023 season. The WNBA’s all-time leading scorer ran the pick-and-roll with star teammate Brittney Griner, using Griner’s 6-foot-9 frame for cover before drawing in a pair of Minnesota Lynx defenders and dropping off a beauty of a no-look dish to the cutting center for a possession-capping layup. Taurasi showed that she remains one of the league’s most offensively productive players in her 19th season, compiling 23 points, 10 assists and four 3-pointers to help Phoenix prevail 90-81 on May 25, 2023.
