On a night in which he didn’t miss a shot and only committed a single turnover during his 17-minute appearance, Tyus Jones certainly wouldn’t be accused of simply playing it too safe. Upping his urgency with the Phoenix Suns four games shy of the Western Conference’s final Play-In spot, the 10-year veteran combats the Minnesota Timberwolves’ press with his teammate’s statue-esque screen, ultimately freeing his path for a buzzer-beating 32-footer. For one quarter, Phoenix looked the part of a team poised to hunt down the Minnesota Timberwolves, but by March 2, 2025’s end, victory fell in favor of the back-to-back Western Conference Finals representatives. Effective even so, Jones cobbled together a 10-point contribution (on four-of-four shooting), alongside one rebound, one assist, one steal, and two 3-pointers.
