When Paul George and Kawhi Leonard joined the LA Clippers in 2019, they did so with an already stacked pair of resumes. George was a six-time All-Star and an All-NBA First Team selection following the 2018-19 campaign, while Leonard had made three All-Star squads and won two championship rings — and Finals MVP awards — with the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors. Joining forces in L.A., therefore, was about more than individual accolades.In just their 11th game together on December 13, 2019, it already felt like the pair had been teammates for years. The Minnesota Timberwolves had no chance to stop Leonard and George from exploding for 40-plus points each, surgically picking apart the defense while scoring every which way: strong drives to the rim, mid-range pull-ups and three-pointers. The duo sizzled en route to a combined 88 points, 16 rebounds, nine assists and two steals. Although the Clippers lost in the conference semis later that season, Leonard and George would guide the franchise to its first appearance in the Western Conference Finals the following campaign.
